Celebridades despiden a Aretha Franklin con emotivos mensajes

Barbra Streisand, Paul McCartney, Elton John, Céline Dion, Stephen King, Mariah Carey, Axl Rose, Michelle y Barack Obama, Oprah, Adele y Lisa Marie Presley, entre otros, expresaron su dolor por la muerte de la "Reina del Soul".

Celebridades de todos los ámbitos alrededor del mundo lamentaron la muerte de "La Reina del Soul", Aretha Franklin, quien falleció este jueves a los 76 años en su casa de Detroit, tras luchar contra un cáncer pancreático que la aquejaba desde 2010.

El mundo del espectáculo, la política, el deporte, el modelaje, entre otras áreas, reaccionaron con pesar ante la lamentable pérdida y no tardaron en presentar sus respetos por la leyenda de la música a través de redes sociales.

Con su poderosa voz, Franklin ha sellado un lugar en la historia de la música estadounidense a lo largo de una carrera de décadas que abarcó todos los géneros: del soul al R&B y del gospel al pop.

En 1987 se convirtió en la primera mujer en ingresar en el Salón de la Fama del Rock and Roll. En 2010, la revista Rolling Stone la colocó primera en su lista de los 100 mejores cantantes de todos los tiempos, tanto hombres como mujeres.

"T omémonos un momento para agradecer por la hermosa vida que fue Aretha Franklin, la Reina de nuestras almas, quien nos inspiró a todos por muchos años. Vamos a extrañarla, pero los recuerdos de su grandeza como músico y como ser humano vivirán por siempre con nosotros", escribió Paul McCartney.

Elton John expresó que "la pérdida de Aretha Franklin es un golpe para todos los que aman la música de verdad: múica que viene desde el corazón, el alma y la Iglesia. Su voz era única, sus habilidades para el piano fueron subvaloradas. Era una de mis pianistas favoritas".

" La Reina del Soul ha dejado la Tierra para sentarse en su trono en el Cielo. Cuán bendecidos fuimos de poder escuchar lo mejor que Dios tiene que ofrecer por medio de su voz", manifestó Lenny Kravitz.

Por su parte, Barbra Streisand publicó una imagen junto a Franklin junto al siguiente mensaje: "Esta foto fue tomada en 2012, cuando Aretha y yo nos presentamos en una celebración en homenaje a nuestro amigo Marvin Hamlisch. Es difícil concebir un mundo sin ella. No sólo fue una cantante brillante, sino que además su compromiso con los derechos civiles dejaron un impacto imborrable en el mundo".

The loss of Aretha Franklin is a blow for everybody who loves real music: Music from the heart, the soul and the Church. Her voice was unique, her piano playing underrated - she was one of my favourite pianists. I was fortunate enough to spend time with her and witness her last performance - a benefit for the Elton John AIDS Foundation at St John The Divine Cathedral. She was obviously unwell, and I wasn't sure she could perform. But Aretha did and she raised the roof. She sang and played magnificently, and we all wept. We were witnessing the greatest soul artist of all time. I adored her and worshipped her talent. God bless her. My condolences to all her family and friends. We shared the same birthday - and that meant so much to me. The whole world will miss her but will always rejoice in her remarkable legacy. The Queen is dead.
